Tart green apple laced with stone fruit. Good acidity makes it a nice wine for simple seafood dishes. Grade: B

Today in celebration of Zarqawi’s demise I had lunch at a Milwaukee French bistro that had a $10 special. Since I was saving on the meal (smoked salmon crepes) I splurged on an Italian 2004 pino grigio (don’t remember any other details). It had some good citrus along with plenty of acidity to complement the salmon. It wasn’t so great with the accompaning sweet beets. Still, it reminded me how much I like pinot grigio over chardonnay.
