Decoy (Napa Valley) 2002

This year Duckhorn's second wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (53%), Merlot (26%), and Cabernet Franc (21%), all sourced from Napa Valley vineyards. It's a very deep purple, with a big juicy currant nose. As it breathed, an interesting cedar note showed up to add a dollop of complexity. Soft and easy to drink, although there's enough tannin on the finish to justify holding on to a bottle or two to see how it does medium term. Very nice and a decent value if you can find it in the low to mid-$20s. Grade: B++
