Speaking of Ridge Vineyards

If I were to be stranded on a desert island with the products of just winery, I would chose Ridge without the slightest hesitation. Granted, I like Silver Oak cabernet better than most Ridge cabernets (excepting Monte Bello of a warm year). Likewise, I prefer Duckhorn merlot to that of Ridge. The recent tendency towards late harvest zinfandels at Ridge. moreover, has been off-putting, at best. Having said all that, for my money, there is no more consistent zinfandel than Ridge and no more potent cabernet than Monte Bello. This encomium is prompted by Ridge's new website. It is much easier to use and much more informative. The website is now almost as good as the wine, which is saying a whole lot. Check it out here.
