A potent Cabernet Sauvignon with bog big, bold flavors. Deep purple. Strong legs. Cassis, espresso, mocha java, black cherry. The tannins are a little gritty and a little chalky, but don’t prevent the wine from being enjoyable now. Grade: A-/A
oops.
How do you go about improving the palette to detect differences between items as close as espresso and mocha java? Although, as I type this the problem may be that I’ve just never been too big on coffee.
Dylan: When I tasted this wine, I thought coffee. then I thought rich coffee, so espresso came to mind. But then I thought, there’s also some cocoa and chocolate. So mocha java seemed appropriate too. Often two closely related flavors will both seem valid and so I’ll use both.
Thanks, Steven. You made sense of it for me.
Please, excuse the ‘n.’ It seems I hit it before the period button by accident.

I hope that should read ”big, bold flavors.” Otherwise, I’m not buying the A-/A grade.
